Zoom Party Guide

This month we're busy celebrating kidpik's fifth birthday! To kick things off, we put together the ultimate kids virtual birthday party guide! A virtual birthday party is a great way to celebrate with friends and family while still staying safe, it’s also a great way to celebrate with friends who may live far away. Start by choosing a party theme and get ready to celebrate your kid's special day!  

The first step for a zoom party is to choose a zoom room. We recommend a space that has a solid color background. This makes it easier to green screen in a custom zoom background! Share the image with your friends so everyone can join in the birthday fun!  

One of our favorite virtual birthday party ideas is to create a fun playlist! Choose the birthday boy or girl's favorite songs and have the playlist handy. The party host will be able to share their audio with the guests, so you can have background music playing while your friends catch up! Turn it into a karaoke party by having everyone sing along. Does your child want a dance party? Take over the music controls and have the kids play virtual freeze dance!   

It wouldn't be a kids birthday party without fun games! One of our favorite virtual games is a scavenger hunt. The party host will call out random items for each kid to go find in their own zoom room. The person to find their items the quickest wins!  

Another fun kids birthday party game is Heads Up! The older kids are sure to be familiar with this one. Have each party guest download the app onto their phone. Choose a theme and let the game begin! We know it’s hard to give out a game prize or party favor when you're celebrating virtually. We recommend gifting your friends a gift card.  

You can't have a birthday party, virtual or not, without singing happy birthday. Choose a designated time to pause the fun, and have everyone turn their mics on to sing happy birthday to the birthday child!
